Product Marketing Manager

LOCATION: Piscataway, NJ

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Works closely with members of the marketing department, sales, sales support, and operations to ensure continuity in product offering and company goals. Adhere to and promotes the Company values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a team leader and supports the continued growth of the company. Product Marketing Manager will help develop the global marketing strategy, and business execution for the company’s Supply Chain Services and/or On Demand Messaging business lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITES:

  • Work closely with product and marketing teams, sales, and solution partners to build and implement the new products marketing strategy. This includes identification of appropriate markets and development of effective marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Positioning the product for all markets and all buyers; to include technical buyers and economic buyers across multiple industries.
  • Works with Project Managers in relation to new product launch plans.
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships to drive additional revenue opportunities.
  • Analyze sales success in targeting key markets and buyers, and delivering messages.
  • Assess the market and use strategic market analysis skills to build a compelling campaign strategy and to motivate the cross functional team to execute tactics against that strategy.
  • Establish strategic customer relationships to facilitate product definition development that includes the voice of the customer.
  • Responsible for the marketing research requirements of the company.
  • Manage Analyst relationships.
  • Create messaging and marketing collateral to enhance the company's position in the market. Examples of collateral include white papers, customer presentations, sales training presentations, videos, webinars, solution brochures, solution guides, and demos.
  • Drive and manage multiple programs throughout key stages of the marketing lifecycle.
  • Consistenly deliver programs on time, under budget, with success tracking (metrics).
  • Present and communicate the company's position to customers, partners, industry forums, and internal groups.
  • Support trade show strategy and messaging.
  • Manage and communicate sales information and product changes both internally and externally.
  • Regularly perform pricing and competitive analysis by customer channel and recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality or reduce costs.
  • Able to make independent decisions and make suggestions to upper managers in relation to business services and processes.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and escalation specialist in regards to problems or situations within their department.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to help facilitate the timely completion of projects.
  • No direct Supervisory or Manager responsibilities. May provide work direction to other employees, to vendors, and contracted workers.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental and organizational goals, objectives, and budget.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years product marketing experience.
  • Solid background in B2B enterprise technology and services across multiple industries.
  • Prior experience in creating marketing collateral with excellent written and presentation skills.
  • Prior experience of developing positioning and messaging.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain technologies and markets, specifically EDI and messaging (desktop and production) solutions, preferred.
  • Pragmatic marketing training/certification, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work load and tasks to effectively meet established deadlines.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Thorough understanding of all marketing disciplines. Strong marketing background with responsibilities for multiple, broad-based marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to understand technical advantages and their relationship to business advantages and to convert them to key messages that influence buying criteria.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize their importance is required.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Able to schedule and lead meetings with a broad range of people.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to articulate clearly and conduct oral presentations.
  • Ability to travel via automobile and/or airplane.
  • Ability to view video display terminal images < 18” away from face for extended period of time; up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time; up to four (4) hours at a time.
